A deadly series of shootings shocked the city of Troy, Alabama on Sunday night when three men were found dead with gunshot wounds at multiple locations. The first victim was found lying in the roadway in the 100 block of New Street at approximately 10:30 p.m. on July 20, 2025, prompting an immediate response from local law enforcement.
As police began their initial investigation at the New Street scene, they quickly uncovered a second victim inside a nearby residence. The situation became more complex when witnesses reported that the first victim’s vehicle had been stolen following the shooting. This stolen vehicle, later identified as a gray Nissan Altima, was found abandoned on North Three Notch Street near Needmore Drive, where officers found the third victim deceased in the driver’s seat.
Troy Police Chief Danny Barron addressed public safety concerns, stating, “While this is a tragic incident that has deeply affected our community, we want to assure residents that there’s no ongoing threat to public safety.”
The police department has launched a comprehensive investigation, collaborating with multiple agencies including the Pike County District Attorney’s Office, Sheriff’s Office, and Troy University Police.
